A multidisciplinary approach lies at the heart of Institut Imagine. Conceived by Professor Claude Griscelli, our model is built on the synergy between patients, families, physicians, researchers, students, tech-transfer and allied health professionals—all working under one roof to accelerate research and reduce the diagnostic odyssey, which is often unbearable for families. Today, thanks to this unique ecosystem, we achieve a diagnostic rate close to 50%. By 2030, our ambition is to reach 80%. Achieving this goal requires the development of our resources, including strengthening our technological platforms, acquiring cutting-edge equipment, and attracting and welcoming top talent—physicians, researchers, and healthcare providers.
Imagine’s model starts with the child affected with a genetic disease, coming back to the child with a treatment. The objective is to provide a treatment to 30% of them in 2030, from 15% today.
A cornerstone of Institut Imagine’s strategy for global impact and sustained excellence is its resolutely international outlook, a vision further championed by its new Director, Bana Jabri. Central to this is the expansion of international mobility programs, designed both to attract leading global talent to Imagine and to provide its own young researchers with unparalleled opportunities for training abroad.
One crucial initiative is the International Mobility Scholarship Program. This highly selective program supports outstanding clinicians holding a PhD in biology, enabling them to pursue research and gain invaluable experience in world-renowned laboratories at a critical stage of their careers. The ultimate objective is to encourage their return to Imagine, enriched by this international exposure, ready to apply enhanced expertise to the most pressing challenges in genetic medicine.

- Establishment of a “Welcome Center” offering researchers tailored support and appealing housing solutions in Paris, designed to facilitate their relocation and integration.
- An international PhD program in partnership with Institut Pasteur, providing selected candidates with a 3- to 4-year opportunity to join one of the doctoral schools of Université Paris Cité and conduct research in one of Imagine’s 28 laboratories. Participants receive training from globally recognized experts in genetics.
- Enhancement of the international Postdoctoral program, aimed at attracting exceptional postdoctoral researchers from around the world.
