Fondation de France Asia in 2025: A Year of Dialogue, Collaboration, and Impact
Over the course of 2025, Fondation de France Asia advanced its mission of fostering meaningful philanthropy and strengthening connections between France and Asia through a series of initiatives and events grounded in dialogue, collaboration, and action.

The year started with a field trip in Cambodia together with Humanity and Inclusion, and the Asean Foundation to witness the great work conducted by the NGO in its reeducation centre and with local schools in Kampong Cham in care and support to hundreds of people touched by severe handicaps.

It followed with Heritage Alive: Illuminating the Power of Heritage Revitalisation, an event in association with Centre des Monuments Nationaux that explored how cultural heritage preservation can serve as a powerful catalyst for social, cultural, and community development. Through case studies and expert dialogue – from the story and transformation of Hong Kong’s first UNESCO-awarded hotel, the Tai O Heritage Hotel, to the comprehensive reconstruction of the Garden of the Palace of the Established Happiness in the Forbidden City – the evening highlighted the importance of revitalising heritage as a living force that bridges past and present while shaping shared futures.

Fondation de France Asia then hosted the second edition of A Night for Philanthropy, its signature annual showcase of Franco-Asian collaboration. Centred on culture and education, the evening brought together leaders from philanthropy, business, diplomacy and the arts, reaffirming the role of cross-border partnerships in driving long-term impact. We were honoured to welcome Mrs. Axelle Davezac, CEO of Fondation de France, and Mr Christopher Hui, GBS, JP, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of the Hong Kong SAR, alongside an inspiring performance by cellist Gautier Capuçon and laureate Victor Yuanhan Lu. The event celebrated creativity, generosity, and collective commitment, while raising significant support for philanthropic initiatives across the region.

The year concluded with Humanitarian and Philanthropy – The French Way, an evening dedicated to exploring the French humanitarian approach and its contributions across Asia. The round table consisted of insights from leading organisations partnered with Fondation de France Asia, Enfants D’Asie, Médecins du Monde, and Humanity & Inclusion, who are active in the region, and fostered dialogue on collaboration, innovation, and the evolving needs of communities across the region.
Together, these events reflect Fondation de France Asia’s commitment to creating spaces for exchange, learning, and action towards philanthropy and the greater good. As we look ahead to 2026 and beyond Hong Kong, we are excited to build on this momentum, deepen our partnerships, and continue convening conversations and initiatives that drive meaningful impact across Asia.
