FONDATION INALCO – ADVANCING KNOWLEDGE ABOUT ASIAN LANGUAGES AND CIVILISATIONS
Support Fondation Inalco in empowering students, advancing research on Asian cultures, and protecting scholars affected by conflict.
Together, let’s build a world where knowledge crosses borders and culture unites people.
Founded in 1795, Paris-based “Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales” (Inalco) is a leading higher education and research institution for language and civilisation studies, covering over 100 languages: a world record. Students and researchers explore Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Eastern Europe through disciplines ranging from classical heritage to contemporary socio-political questions.
Each year, 9,000 students from over 120 nationalities join a research community of 1,250 people, building bridges between societies through language, knowledge, and mutual understanding. Graduates pursue careers in diplomacy, research, international trade, interpretation and many others.
Fondation Inalco helps this exceptional institution thrive by:
- Providing students with international immersion scholarships and online learning opportunities;
- Funding innovative research in area studies—both historical and contemporary—as well as preserving rare and endangered languages;
- Providing a safe haven to endangered cultures, scholars, and students while promoting intercultural dialogue
Supporting Fondation Inalco strengthens this unique academic proposition and fosters ever more vital connections across cultures worldwide.
