CENTRE DES MONUMENTS NATIONAUX – PRESERVING FRENCH HERITAGE SITES
The Centre des Monuments Nationaux (CMN) is a French public institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture. Its mission is to restore, maintain, promote, and bring to life around a hundred monuments across metropolitan France. It organizes a wide range of cultural and educational activities, including exhibitions, performances/concerts, conferences, and seminars.
With over 11 million visitors in 2023 across its network, the CMN positions itself as the leading French operator in its field within the tourism market.
THE CAUSES WE SUPPORT
Palais du Tau
Restoration operations of the Palais du Tau in order to create the Museum of the Coronation of the Kings of France. This project will feature a new immersive and inclusive visitor experience and an enrichment of the CMN’s collections.
Target amount sought: €36 million
Palais de la Cité
Revival of the Palais de la Cité on the Ile de la Cite in the center of Paris, by bringing together the Conciergerie and the Sainte-Chapelle to create a new visitor pathway, including mediation and interpretation spaces to showcase the history of the first royal palace of France.
Target amount sought: €250 million
Domaine national de Rambouillet
Refurnishing of key spaces and development of the gardens to support cultural activities, along with the enhancement of the Queen’s Dairy using a new mediation tool.
Target amount sought: €60 million
Patrimoine vert
Enhancement of the CMN’s green spaces to organize workshops that will highlight the historical significance of the sites (for schools, reintegration projects, ect.) while preserving biodiversity.
